Kipkemboi Kimeli was a Kenyan long-distance runner who won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Kimeli died in Albuquerque, New Mexico from complications from pneumonia and tuberculosis on February 6, 2010.

Simon Kipkemboi is a former sprinter from Kenya, who represented his native East African country twice at the Summer Olympics: in 1988 and 1992. He is best known for winning the gold medal in the men's 200 metres at the 1987 All-Africa Games.
